« Today it is not a question of revealing social cinema, nor of stifling it in a formula, but of striving to awaken in you the latent need to see good films more often (than our film makers forgive me this pleonasm) dealing with society and its relationships with individuals and things. »« For 19 years, Europe by Europe has aimed to express the complex and multifaceted identity of European civilization. In the panorama of cinematographic visions of the 2024 edition – whether painful historical and personal memories, or patient restitution and analysis of the mechanisms of colonial power, apocalyptic, disillusioned or amused gazes – each film is a station towards the knowledge of others, a stanza towards our soul confused by the ambient chaos. »
