At the Door of the House who Will Come Knocking

Press

“The surrounding nature is magnificent, and recurring visual symbols, such as a brightly colored traditional carpet, are used to emphasize the hero’s world. Some shots are as well composed as masterpieces of painting. There is virtually no dialogue, but a narrative thread, told through images, intense sound design, and music. In addition to horns, flutes, and strings, usually in minor keys, powerful percussion marks certain emotional nodes. The score accompanies different editing approaches, with creative cuts and dissolves that serve to depict the passage of time or imply changes in the hero’s state of mind. Novaković also has a knack for bombast, as some scenes are almost painfully intense without anything specific happening.”
