Synopsis :
Filmed in 1969 in Brebbia’s hometown of Varese, “Anno 2000” blends images of the historic center, slated to be replaced by new residential areas, with scenes of construction sites. The film focuses primarily on the young people gathered in the main square, Piazza del Podestà. The fleeting details of their facial expressions, held for a second longer before disappearing, invite us to reflect on the lives of the people of Varese in the year 2000.
