“The idea for the film was born from observing the interactions between people and inflatable bears, which are popular among Russians at birthday parties, even in Germany. The idea of filming an invisible person inside a bear costume struck me as a symbol of the chasm that exists between immigrant identity and external perceptions shaped by societal expectations.”
