Josefin Neldén, born December 17, 1984 in Gothenburg (Sweden), is a Swedish actress and producer. Trained at Wendelsbergs Teater och Skolscen, she made her film debut in 2005 in “Tjenare kungen” by Ulf Malmros.

She quickly distinguished herself with notable roles in theater, film and television, notably in “Känn ingen sorg“, “Psykos i Stockholm“, the series “The Restaurant” and recently in “The Swedish Torpedo” (2024), where she plays swimmer Sally Bauer.

Her career has been critically acclaimed and garnered numerous Guldbagge Award nominations. An intense and committed performer, she excels both on stage and in front of the camera.

Biography

Kristina Josefin Neldén was born on December 17, 1984, in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. She studied at Wendelsbergs Teater och Skolscen before furthering her studies at the Philippe Gaulier School in Paris and the Voice Studio International in London. She is multilingual (Swedish, English, and German), a certified diver, and a passionate alpine skier.

She made her film debut in 2005 in Ulf Malmros’s “Tjenare kungen“. She then went on to appear in films such as “Känn ingen sorg” (2013), inspired by the songs of Håkan Hellström – a role which earned her a Guldbagge Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress –, Ali Abbasi’s “Border” (Un Certain Regard Prize at Cannes), “438 dagar“, “Psykos i Stockholm” (2020), and “The Swedish Torpedo” (2024), where she plays the pioneer Sally Bauer.

In the theatre, she is a familiar face on Swedish stages, notably at Backa Teater and Göteborgs Stadsteater, where she has worked with directors such as Mattias Andersson and Viktor Tjerneld. Her signature roles include “Hierarchy of Needs“, “Färgen från yttre rymden“, and “En folkefiende“.

On television, she achieved popular success in the series “Vår tid är nu” (“The Restaurant“, 2017–2020), in which she played the character Maggan for three seasons. She also appeared in international series such as “The Head” (2023), “Doktrinen“, “Selma Lagerlöf” and “Ängelby“.

Her performance in “The Swedish Torpedo” earned her another Guldbagge Award nomination in 2025. In 2020, she received the prestigious Sten A. Olssons Kulturstipendium cultural grant for her lifetime achievement.
