Olivier Meys

Olivier Meys is a Belgian director and screenwriter. In 2000, he graduated from the Belgian Institute for Broadcasting Arts. Meys has directed several short films and documentaries, including "Dans les décombres", which won the SCAM Prize at Cinéma du Réel in 2008.
In 2017, he directed his first feature film, "Bitter Flowers", the story of a young Chinese woman who leaves her son and husband behind and moves to Paris in search of a better future. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, where it won Best Actress. The film also won the Magritte Award for Best First Feature Film.
His latest feature film, "Jahia's Summer", was selected at the Gothenburg Film Festival.
